More like a business than the "landlord only" status of most port districts, Clarkston is an "operating" port, choosing to run its equipment and terminal functions normally contracted to a third party. Land is for lease, not for sale, but the Port will "build-to-suit" or tenants may construct their own facilities. Current clients ranges from large agri-business and forest products firms to a 50-unit antique mall and small entrepreneurial enterprises in manufacturing, retail, and service sectors.

Port of Clarkston Mission
  • Deliver property, facilities, and infrastructure that encourage private investment, create wealth for constituents, create family wage jobs, diversify and stabilize the local economy, and create a sustainable environment.

  • Play a leadership role in ensuring that waterfronts are vibrant, active centerpieces for the communities in the locality and partner on improving other tourism and recreation opportunities.

  • Preserve and better the quality of life for the citizens of Asotin County.

Port Meetings held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm at the Port office.
